Frequently Asked Questions For People Reporting Criminals
Q: How do I report a criminal or a suspicious activity on your website?
A: Follow this linkto report a criminal, and this linkto report a suspicious activity.
Q: What information do I have to give when I report a person who I think is breaking the law?
A: You should have the following information in order to give Law Enforcement officials enough to go on.
  • The type of crime that was committed
  • The city and state where the crime was committed
  • The name of the perpetrator
  • A description of what you know about the crime and the person or persons who did it.
Q: What information do I need to have in order to report a suspicious activity?
A: While Law Enforcement would like as much information as possible, they will need at least the following in order to investigate.
  • The type of activity taking place.
  • The city, state and place where the suspicious activity is.
  • A description what you have observed, who is involved, with as much detail as you can.
Q: How can I be assured that my identity is secret, that I can turn in a criminal anonymously?
A: When you report a lawbreaker here, you need not give your name or any other information that will identify you. Unless you choose to enter contact information (many who report suspicious activities are comfortable doing so) we will not know your name, your email, where you live, or anything else that identifies you. The information you provide on ReportAcriminal.com is passed on to the appropriate law enforcement agency, totally ANONYMOUSLY.
Q: Do I have to register on your website in order to turn in a lawbreaker or tell about a suspicious activity?
A: No! You fill out the form on the Report A Criminal pageor on the Suspicious Activity page, upload any evidence you have (a photograph of the person is very good) and then put in a username (not your real name) and a secret password of your choosing, and submit the report. You are not "Registered" as other users are, but you do have a "screen name" and password that will allow you to identify yourself in the future if there is a reward offered or you wish to return to edit or add to the information you provided originally.

Selecting a username and password does not compromise your anonymity in any way. We do NOT require any personal information when you make a report.
Q: How does the information I report reach the proper Law Enforcement Agency?
A: If you know which Law Enforcement Agency should get your report, after you enter it, you can then simply forward it to them by selecting the "Send to Law Enforcement" button and filling out the information requested on the form. If you don't know who should get your information, others who visit our site and Register as Users or Law Enforcement Officials can forward your information to the proper agency.
Q: Will I be notified if and when an action has been taken by Law Enforcement about the case I'm reporting?
A: You won't be directly notified, since your report is anonymous. However, we encourage Law Enforcement to report back to the site on actions they have taken, and if they do, you can view their feedback as other users can. Check back for Law Enforcement responses and or requests for additional information.
Q: Will there be a reward for reporting the criminal?
A: Perhaps. ReportACriminal.com does not directly post rewards, and there are no rewards posted by others for the information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of most criminals. A reward may be made available. Check our Rewardssection, and our Terms Of Use.
