File New Whistleblower Report
Information For Potential Whistleblowers
Overview

While on their jobs, many Americans witness evidence of illegality, gross waste, fraud, mismanagement, abuse of power, or substantial danger to public health and safety. Federal and State whistleblower statutes have been passed so that there are both incentives and protection offered to those individuals who come forward and "blow the whistle" on such acts.

However, because of the way a whistleblower can be treated, from being verbally berated, to demotion, to being fired, many employees remain silent.

Whistleblower actions that may invite retaliation include:

(a) reporting wrongdoing or a violation of the law to authorities, a supervisor, a hotline or an Inspector General
(b) refusing a superior's direction to participate in the wrongdoing
(c) testifying in a legal proceeding
(d) leaking evidence of wrongdoing to the media

Qui Tam Actions

The U.S. False Claims Act (31, 3730) provides that civil action may be taken by the government or by a private citizen for false claims against the government. Such action by a private citizen is called "qui tam", from a Latin praise meaning "he who sues for the king as well as for himself". The citizen who sues must prove that an illegal receipt of money, property or other compensation from the Government took place.

It is evident that the ordinary citizen would need the help of an attorney experienced in "Qui tam" suits in order to be successful and receive a reward.

Tax Fraud

Citizens who know of a tax fraud of over two million dollars (including penalties and interest), are able to receive rewards of up to 30 percent of what the Internal Revenue Service collects as a result of information about the fraud.

Claims and Anonymity

Whistleblowers need to be protected from retaliation by the target of their allegation, by anonymity. By reporting through ReportACriminal.com there is no disclosure of your identity, except to those whom you approve. You relate the information you have without submitting your personal information. You receive a confidential ID and password. We then route the information to a pre-screened attorney that specializes in Qui Tam or Tax Fraud actions who will assess the claim and advice as to its viability to proceed to a successful recovery of damages.

If you think you have information that shows fraud against the government (Federal, State or local) or any other action that may qualify for Whistleblower protection and rewards, fill out the form below.
